Common Industry Competencies (CIC)

The Australian Well Control Centre (AWCC) in support of Safer Together are assisting in streamlining competencies in the State of Queensland through the Common Industry Competencies (CIC) initiative that became effective from the 1st July 2017.

The CIC initiative is aimed at streamlining employee training competencies that are shared across the Queensland Natural Gas Energy and Petroleum Industries.

The AWCC RTO, No: 41356, has purposely designed an intensive face to face program to satisfy all your Common Industry Competencies training needs for employment on any Oil and Gas site in the state of Queensland.

The AWCC intensive face to face program can be completed by attending consecutive days, or on an individual day basis, to satisfy refresher training needs as required.  If you currently hold one or more, but not all of the common industry competencies, you can choose to attend an individual day, or 1/2 day, to ensure you have the required competencies required. To view the CIC standard requirements for refresher training click on this link.

Where a role description identifies a Competency Requirement that is defined in the Common Industry Competency Standard, the Common Industry Competency Requirements defined in the Standard will apply. Visit Safer Together FAQ’s for more answers.

Note:
Candidates looking to gain relevant Common Industry Competencies are requested to check with an Industry Sector Representative and/or check what competencies they need to achieve in accordance with any Specific Employment requirement. AWCC provides a number of options below for candidates to choose from. Simply check the common competency/s you need, and choose that course. If you need further assistance, please call AWCC on 07 4638 0532.
