The AWCC Enter and Work in Confined Spaces Program has been designed to connect with individuals that work across a multitude of industries. Confined spaces are everywhere and it is critical, not only the safety of the individual, but their peers and operation alike, workers need to know how to engage these spaces with caution and care. This is why AWCC have taken the leed in providing an affordable solution for our clients to gain Nationally Accredited Training in both Gas Testing Atmosphere prior to entry and the skills to Enter and Work in Confined Spaces once confirmed to be safe.
In recent years there have been several incidents of multiple fatalities due to asphyxiation in confined spaces. Confined spaces are Hazardous and need to be treated with respect.
How many of you have heard of multiple fatalities regarding asphyxiation or toxic overload from entry into a confined space? This is mainly due to one person being affected (collapsed and unconscious) and either a workmate or family member rushes in, without thought, to the aid of what they see to be the injured person, this is a natural human response and is often fatal. Toxic Gasses are the silent killers and once immersed in them they can be deadly. The Team at AWCC know this all to well having witnessed and heard these occurrences happening regularly not only in industry but in society as a whole. Knowing how to plan and manage, or more importantly survive these types of situations is one of the main points of difference when undertaking the AWCC Enter and Work in Confined Spaces Program.
It is highly recommended that participants undertaking the AWCC Enter and Work in Confined Spaces Program incorporate the Gas Test Atmospheres Unit also. These courses run concurrently and are held weekly, every Tuesday at AWCC’s Training Facility in East Brisbane. Logically this makes good sense as testing the atmosphere before entering the confined space is critical to maintaining the safety of workers and is inline with best industry practice.
